Outlook for property development w/ Simon Riordan
We recently caught up with Simon Riordan, Managing Director at Avari Capital Partners. Simon and his team lend to property developers and are filling a gap as banks reduce their lending to this area.
We asked Simon about the current state of the property market, in particularly, is property development getting easier or harder?
This is important because it gives us an idea of how much supply will come onto the market over the next few years. You don’t need to be a big developer to know that prices move with demand and supply.
When developers are feeling confident, they usually launch multiple projects and start building. This increases supply.
However, according to Simon, the property development is still tough and he explains why particularly parts of the market his team prefers to lend to.
A great eye-opener and glimpse into the future of the Australian property market, and brand-new property in particular.
